The reward for information about the death of a jogger brutally murdered blocks from her Queens home has grown to nearly $300,000.
On Tuesday, Mayor de Blasio’s office added $10,000 to the $25,000 reward being offered by the NYPD for information about the killing of 30-year-old Karina Vetrano on Aug. 2 in Spring Creek Park in Howard Beach.
The bulk of the reward funds were raised by Vetrano’s family using a gofundme.com campaign.
The effort has raised more than $264,000 in the three weeks since Vetrano was assaulted and murdered shortly after leaving her home to go for a run.
Vetrano’s parents said last week they felt the hunt for her killer would come to an end in “a matter of days.”
Police Commissioner Bill Bratton said detectives have no suspects at the moment.
“We are not close to an arrest,” he said. “We need the public’s assistance.”
