A prominent Bollywood actress was attacked and tear-gassed in Paris — mere blocks away from where Kim Kardashian was robbed at gunpoint last month.
Mallika Sherawat, a major movie star in India, was with a male companion when three men began spraying them with gas and punching them over and over, TMZ reports.
The unidentified assailants then reportedly fled the scene, leaving both victims slightly injured.
The men wore scarves over their faces to hide their identities and didn’t say a word before they attacked the 40-year-old actress, according to France’s Le Parisien newspaper.
It’s unclear if the assault occurred inside Sherawat’s apartment or outside of it, but nothing was reportedly taken from her residence.
Sherawat, a strong advocate for feminism and women’s rights in India, and the man she was with were left stunned by the frightening encounter and called emergency services immediately after, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Local authorities have reportedly since launched an investigation under the estimation that the altercation occurred as part of an attempted robbery.
The harrowing incident occurred just six weeks after five thieves allegedly intruded Kardashian’s bedroom at a nearby hotel, gagged and bound her in the bathroom and made off with millions of dollars-worth of jewelry.
Police launched an investigation shortly after, but the criminals remain at large.
Sherawat has appeared in dozens of Bollywood films since breaking into the industry in 2002, and has also landed a few roles in American programming such as “Hawaii Five-0.”
