Israeli police say a Palestinian stabbed a female soldier near Jerusalem, injuring her before he was shot and killed by forces.
The assailant stabbed and wounded the IDF soldier on Wednesday in an attempted attack in Kikar Adam north of Jerusalem in the Binyamin region, according to initial reports.
One attacker was shot and another suspect was apprehended, according to police.
Spokeswoman Luba Samri said the soldier was lightly injured in the attack Wednesday afternoon. Another Palestinian involved in the attack was arrested, she said. Israeli media said the Palestinian stabbed the soldier in the neck.
According to Magen David Adom paramedics, the hurt soldier suffered wounds to her upper body.
It was the latest in a series of almost daily Palestinian attacks against Israeli civilians and soldiers that erupted about a month ago.
