WASHINGTON — Hillary Rodham Clinton’s allies took to the airwaves Wednesday with an ad accusing Republicans of “playing politics” with Benghazi, a day before Clinton was scheduled to testify about her role in the 2012 attack on the US compound in Libya that took four American lives.
The Democrats on the House Benghazi Committee also released the transcript of an interview with Clinton’s former chief of staff Cheryl Mills, who said Clinton was “devastated” by the attacks and was “deeply engaged” in ensuring others made it home from Libya.
Patricia Smith, mother of victim Sean Smith, told CNN that Clinton promised her answers during the casket ceremony but never got back to her.
Smith lashed out when CNN replayed a clip of Clinton’s previous Senate testimony, where she said, “What difference, at this point, does it make?” because the job was to find out what happened.
“She’s lying!” yelled Smith.
