NYC Correction Officer Arrested For Midtown Club Rampage

An off-duty corrections officer was arrested when he trashed a midtown night club and punched an employee after he tried to leave without paying a hefty tab, authorities said.

Scott Baxter, 36, was partying at Lavo on East 58th Street near Madison Avenue where he racked up a bill of over $1,000 before trying to slip out around 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

When he was stopped by an employee, Baxter slugged the 31-year-old man in the face and went berserk, throwing and breaking tables, chairs and glasses, cops said.

The jail guard was arrested and charged with grand larceny, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and assault.
