Cops released a sketch Wednesday of a man they want to question in connection with the rape and murder of a young woman who was killed while jogging in Howard Beach.
The man wearing a wool cap depicted in the sketch may have seen something that would help police in their investigation into the Aug. 2 homicide of Karina Vetrano, 30.
Chief of Detectives Robert Boyce said the man in the sketch has no direct connection to the killing.
A utility worker saw the man near the bike path in Spring Creek Park, Boyce said.
Detectives think the man, who is believed to be between 35 and 40, might be able to provide information about what he may have seen around the time Vetrano is believed to have been sexually assaulted and strangled.
