NYPD: Video Shows Brutal Attack On MTA Bus Driver

Brooklyn, NY – Two weeks after an MTA bus driver was viciously attacked while driving his assigned route, the NYPD is turning to the public for help in identifying the assailant.

The incident in question took place on Friday, January 29th at approximately 6:15 PM in East Flatbush at the corner of Nostrand Avenue and Avenue D.

Surveillance video from the New York City Transit bus shows the suspect pummeling the bus driver repeatedly and then standing outside the bus for approximately 16 seconds, egging the driver on and inviting him to exit the bus and to continue the confrontation.

Police described the attacker as a male black in his 20s, approximately 5’9, with shoulder length dreadlocks.

Police said that they could not say what route the 62 year old bus operator was driving nor could they comment on the extent of his injuries.

MTA spokesperson Amanda Kwan declined to comment on the incidents taking place on that date at that location.

The NYPD is asking anyone with information regarding the beating to contact them at the Crime Stopper’s hotline 800-577-TIPS, at their website www.NYPDCrimeStoppers.com or to text CRIMES (246370) and to enter TIP577.
