A terror attack has been reported at Ariel Junction. A Jewish man, aged about 25, was stabbed and suffered moderate-to-serious wounds in the upper body.
The stabber escaped.
Magen David Adom teams are at the site of the attack and tending to the victim. Security forces are combing the area in search of the terrorist.
MDA paramedic Yaniv Bakish, who tended to the wounded man, said: “When we arrived at the spot we saw a young man aged about 25 sitting on the sidewalk next to the roundabout at the entrance junction to Ariel. He was fully conscious, he spoke to us and he was suffering from several stab wounds in his upper body.
“We gave him immediate medical care and quickly evacuated him for further care in serious but stable condition.”
Ariel Mayor Eliyahu Shbiro said that he views “with great gravity” the situation in which “A terrorist arrives at the Ariel Junction next to the city and hurts innocent people.
We trust in the security forces, but at the same time, we will make sure that the army’s activity provides a solution for the Jewish residents at the junction.”
“I am saddened by the fact that Tel Aviv, Ariel and other cities have become targets for attacking innocent Jews,” he added. “I wish the injured man a speedy recovery and I believe that the security forces will catch the terrorist. Unfortunately, the ceaseless incitement by the Palestinian leadership leads to these tragic results.”
Samaria Regional Council Head Yossi Dagan also reacted to the attack and said that “Israel is unable or unwilling to give the IDF the proper power for providing deterrence on the security level.” He noted that “at this junction, we have been warning for years about the problem that the buses come here full of illegals along with the passengers who are residents of Samaria. We expect the Israeli government to bring back security and deterrence, so that we do not have to see such sights again.”
It is the third stabbing or attempted stabbing Sunday, as a wave of Arab terrorist attacks continues.
On Sunday morning, a 58-year-old Jewish man suffered head injuries and was stabbed in the chest in a planned ambush in Gush Etzion, south of Jerusalem – but incredibly managed to fight his attacker off.
Several hours later, an Arab woman attempted to stab a soldier at a police checkpoint in Hevron Sunday afternoon.
The terrorist was shot dead by alert border police officers before she was able to injure anyone.
The Arab terrorist approached the checkpoint close to the Cave of the Patriarchs and aroused the suspicion of border police stationed there.
When officers demanded she identify herself the attacker drew a knife and charged at them while shouting in Arabic; officers opened fire and neutralized her.
