Three people have been wounded in a stabbing attack by an Arab terrorist in Rishon Letzion, central Israel, on Monday afternoon.
Among the injured is an 80-year-old woman who was stabbed multiple times in the upper body, leaving her moderately-to-seriously wounded. According to some reports, she was on the 83 bus at the time.
The two other victims have been identified as a man in his forties who is in serious condition after being stabbed on a bus, and a 20-year-old man with light wounds to his limbs.
Magen David Adom (MDA) medics treated all three at the scene and have transferred them to Assaf HaRofeh Medical Center for treatment; medics treated a number of bystanders for shock as well.
An initial police investigation indicates that the terrorist, a 19-year-old resident of Hevron, began to stab Israelis on the corner of Herzl and Tarmav Street, and stabbed another after entering a clothing store.
A local woman shopping in the store stopped the stabber by closing the door on him, stalling him until police arrived.
Video from the moments following the attack show a crowd attempting to attack the terrorist as he is led away by police, who successfully hold them back.
When we arrived at the scene, we saw, on Herzl St. near the bakery, a woman of about 80 lying on the sidewalk, conscious and suffering from a stab wound to her upper body,” senior MDA medic Yoni Ohayon and MDA medic Ofir Parnatki stated to the press shortly after the attack. “We gave her emergency treatment and then transferred her to Assaf HaRofeh Medical treatment in moderate to serious condition.”

Nir Bavai, another MDA medic, treated the other two wounded at the scene.
“We saw a young man sitting on the sidewalk, about 26, who had suffered a stab wound in the leg,” he recounted. “We gave him medical treatment and evacuated him to hospital.”
The stabber was arrested by police and is currently being questioned.
It is the second stabbing attack Monday, after one Arab terrorist shot dead and another arrest near Jenin, in Samaria, while attempting to stab IDF soldiers.
