Air Canada Flight 84, which was flying from Toronto to Tel Aviv, declared an emergency south of Ireland and diverted to London, where it has made an emergency landing.
Only few details were immediately available.
The incident began at about 4:05 a.m. London time on Monday (11 p.m. ET on Sunday) when Flight AC84 began squawking 7700 which is the transponder code for an in-flight emergency as it flew to the south of Ireland.
According to preliminary information, the in-flight emergency was related to some sort of maintenance issue, though details were not immediately available.
The aircraft descended and diverted to London Heathrow Airport, where it safely landed at 4:54 a.m. London time (11:54 p.m. ET).
Flight 84, which is operated by a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, was en-route from Toronto Pearson International Airport to Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv.
It is unknown how many passengers and crew members were on board.
