FORT LEE — A 54-year-old Rockland County man was arrested Monday and charged with invasion of privacy for peeking into the windows of a Bergen Boulevard motel and trying to snap cell phone photos of naked couples, including a man and a woman having sex, authorities said.
Nachman Breier, of Spring Valley, N.Y., was caught on a security camera video recording at the Skyview Motel, said Police Capt. Patrick Kissane.
Breier, who was described as a married man who works as a beverage deliveryman, had peered into windows at the motel at least two times last week and photographed couples in the rooms, Kissane said in a statement.
Breier was charged in a summons with invasion of privacy and released on his own recognizance Kissane said.
Officers were called to the Skyview motel around 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, the captain said.
One motel guest told police that a man, later identified as Breier, had opened the window of his room and took photos with a cell phone while the guest and his wife were naked inside the room, Kissane said.
The man was driving a dark-colored minivan and had just driven away, the guest told police.
A motel employee said another guest had reported a similar incident.
The second couple had been engaged in sexual acts when Breier opened the window to their room and moved the curtain inside, the captain said. He tried to take photos but ran away when one of the guests noticed him, police said.
The guest said he saw the man get into a black Toyota Sienna with a New York Volunteer Ambulance Service license plate.
Police believe Breier may have committed similar crimes elsewhere in Bergen and Rockland counties, Kissane said.
The captain asked anyone with information to call Fort Lee detectives at 201-592-3510.
