An NYPD sergeant whose job is to screen department candidates has been suspended after she was arrested for drunken driving in Long Island, officials said.
Sgt. Lynda Chervoni, 39, was pulled over on the Long Island Expressway in Roslyn Heights after several people complained she was swerving about 2:10 a.m. Saturday.
Cops charged her with drunk driving.
She was ordered held on $1,500 bond Saturday.
Chervoni is assigned to the NYPD’s Candidate Assessment Division, which is responsible for vetting applicants for the NYPD Police Academy.
The NYPD suspended the 15-year department veteran after learning of her arrest, officials said.
