Brooklyn, NY – A New York police detective was caught on surveillance video stealing $3,000 from a Brooklyn deli during a raid April 3.
The officers raided the deli to crack down on its sales of untaxed cigarettes, according to ABC News 7.
The deli manager, Ali Abdullah, says he realized the next day that the money kept in a box under the counter was missing.
He viewed the video, caught using the store’s 12-camera security system, and watched as one of the detectives grabbed the pile of money and put what appears to be money into his coat pocket.
The NYPD has viewed the video and stated that one detective has been suspended pending an investigation between Internal Affairs and the DA’s office.
