A Rockland County boy remains in critical condition after being struck while riding his bike on one of Monsey’s busiest roads last night.
14 year old Chesky Sklarz of Airmont was struck at 8:26 last night on Route 59 not far from his Besen Parkway home by an eastbound Dodge Durango.
Route 59 was closed last night for several hours between Besen Parkway and Remsen Avenue for the police investigation which is still currently underway.
Sklarz, who sustained serious injuries, was transported by Hatzolah last night to Westchester Medical Center.
According to Lieutenant Mark Emma of the Ramapo Police Department it does not appear that Sklarz was wearing a bike helmet at the time of the accident.
No charges have been filed at this time against the driver of the dodge, 34 year old Wendi Williams of Nanuet.
