The wealthy heir of a New York City real-estate company can afford a half-dozen Manhattan hotels — but he’s stingy with his own love child, according to a woman asking the absent father to pony up more financial support.
Jay Domb, the son of millionaire Empire Hotel Group owner Sam Domb, used to shower his Brazilian lover Ingrid Soares with lavish gifts and vacations until one steamy trip to the Maldives turned sour when she learned she was pregnant, Soares claims.
The hotel mogul told the woman it was either him or the baby, she claims, and is now suing Domb for at least $4,500 a month in child support.
“He spoke harshly with me,” she said. “I never expected that from him . . . I was in love,” added Soares, 30, who sobbed as she described trying to convince her ex to meet his now-4-year-old son, Daniel.
“I went to his synagogue, they said he was not there. I went to his house, he didn’t let me in. I tried to call him, he didn’t answer . . . He just said he didn’t want to be a part of his son’s life,” she continued.
In 2014, a judge ruled that Domb must pay Soares $2,000 a month in child support, but the mother — who doesn’t work full-time — wants more.
Soares claimed the asthmatic child suffers in their moldy apartment in Brazil and wants her loaded ex to more-than-double his monthly contribution so that she can move to a cleaner place.
She also wants Domb to pay the costs of private schooling and health care, her lawyer said.
Soares said she met Domb in 2010 and he showered her with gifts like $15,000 earrings and $2,000 in cash as spending money.
She initially stayed in his Central Park South apartment but then he put her up in his family-owned apartment on the Upper East Side.
He also jetted her to exotic locations including the Maldives, where she got pregnant and he bolted.
“He told me to choose between him and the child. I told him I prefer to choose my son because my son will love me unconditionally,” she said.
“He would spend with me $30,000 in one week, so I can’t understand why he won’t pay for school for his son,” she said.
Domb’s lawyer declined to comment beyond saying his client has paid everything he has been ordered to.
