ITALY — Italian police stopped rapper Snoop Dogg on Friday as he was leaving the country. He was carrying hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash.
According to his Italian lawyer, Snoop Dogg was preparing to board a private plane bound for Britain with 422-thousand dollars in cash in his Louis Vuitton luggage.
In the European Union, the maximum amount of undeclared cash an individual can take on a plane is just about 11-thousand dollars.
His lawyer said he will have to pay a fine.
The lawyer said the money was from a recent concert.
Authorities returned half the cash to Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus.
The other half was held by Italian authorities until the amount of the fine is determined.
