The owner of a kosher bakery in Philadelphia was shot in the face during an apparent attempted robbery Friday morning.
The shooting happened at the Best Cake Kosher Bakery in the 7500 block of Haverford in the city’s Overbrook section.
Police say the 57-year-old owner was inside the store when she was shot in the chin.
The bullet became lodged in her chin. The victim was able to call 911.
She was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.
The victim’s pocketbook was reportedly stolen during the incident.
The shooting remains under investigation.
