Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that Israel will not exist in 25 years.
In remarks to the Iranian people in Tehran, Khamenei said that after the nuclear deal reached with the West “the Zionists said” that in the next 25 years, there won’t be room to worry about Iran’s nuclear program.
Khamenei was likely referring to the fact that motoring the Iranian nuclear program will continue for the next 25 years.
“I’d say [to Israel] that they will not see [the end] of these 25 years,” Khamenei said. “God willing, there will be no such thing as a Zionist regime in 25 years.
Until then, struggling, heroic and jihadi morale will leave no moment of serenity for Zionists.”
Khamenei added in his address that he approved negotiations with the U.S. only over the nuclear issue for specific reason, but will not allow talks with the U.S. over other issues.
“The Americans want negotiations with Iran as a means to infiltrate [into the country] and impose their will,” Khamenei said. “The Americans don’t hide their hostility towards Iran: One of them smiles, and at the same time, others take measures against Iran.”
Khamenei went on to attack the U.S. with even stronger words.
“There are those [in Iran] who insist to dress the Great Satan America in costumes, and paint it as an angel,” he said. “We’ve expelled the Satan [the U.S.] out the door, it is forbidden for us to permit him to enter through the window.”
On Tuesday, U.S. President Barack Obama secured a major victory in the congressional fight over the Iran nuclear deal.
Obama gained 41 Senate votes, potentially enabling a filibuster and thus preventing a vote on a Republican-backed resolution rejecting the agreement.
Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Gary Peters (D-MI) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) all announced their support for the Iran deal on Tuesday.
With an overwhelming number of Senate Democrats in favor, they can now kill the disapproval resolution outright in the Senate and protect Obama from having to use his veto pen.

מדובר בדברים הסותרים את ההתבטאויות של הנשיא האיראני, חסן רוחאני, לפיו משטרו מוכן לדון עם האמריקנים לגבי פתרונות אפשריים למלחמת האזרחים בסוריה.
חמינאי כזכור, כינה באחרונה מספר פעמים את ארה”ב בשם “השטן הגדול”, ואמר כי אסור להפוך אותו ל”מלאך”, בשל ההסכם.
בארה”ב מעריכים שהכרזתו של חמינאי, נעשתה באופן מכוון יום אחרי ההישג של הנשיא אובמה שהצליח להבטיח כי יעביר את ההסכם בבתי הנבחרים, ללא צורך בהטלת וטו.
המנהיג האיראני העליון גם יצא נגד ישראל בהודעת טוויטר שפירסם בצהריים. “אחרי המגעים, הציונים אמרו שהם פחות מודאגים מהגרעין האיראני לפחות ל-25 השנים הקרובות. ואני אומר להם: המדינה הציונית לא תהיה קיימת בעוד 25 שנים”.
