A state trooper was arrested Wednesday for his alleged role in stealing more than $22,000 worth of landscaping equipment two years ago, according to authorities.
Marko Kos, 35, of Brewster, was charged with grand larceny, a felony, for taking part in stealing about $22,000 worth of landscaping equipment, state police said.
The equipment was reported stolen at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office on Sept. 25, 2014.
Kos entered the state police in September 2003 and served in Troop K ever since. He was currently assigned to the Somers barracks.
The theft occurred while Kos was off duty.
Kos has been suspended without pay. He was arraigned in Southeast court.
