Prosecutors were poised Thursday to announce twin takedowns of white collar cocaine buyers and East Harlem gangs.
Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance was to discuss both busts in an afternoon press conference.
Sources who told the TOT News the two busts were a coordinated bust of gangs and their drug customers were incorrect.
Dozens of people were charged in three indictments covering activities by two gangs.
In a separate indictment, 18 cocaine customers were charged, including a Fox Business Network producer, and marketing executive at Chipotle.
Katie Welnhofer, 29, who works on ‘Mornings with Maria’ on Fox Business, was arraigned in Manhattan Supreme Court Thursday morning.
The pretty blond who had her hair tied back and was wearing tan jail garb before the judge faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, prosecutors said.
She was ordered held on $15,000 bail.
Mark Crumpacker, the Chief Creative and Development Officer at Chipotle, was also arrested.
The separate gang charges for several defendants include murder, conspiracy and other major charges that can carry dozens of years or life behind bars.
