A shooter opened fire at a Fort Myers, Fla., nightclub and fled after killing at least two people and wounding up to 17, authorities said.
Police found several gunshot victims in the strip mall parking lot where evidence cones later marked about dozens of bullet casings that were fired outside Club Blu, according to Fort Myers police officials.
A spray of bullets struck 14 to 16 people. The rolling gunfire continued to a home and vehicle less than a mile from the south Fort Myers venue where police learned more gunshots had been fired.
Cops apprehended a person of interest in the gun attack near a gas station six miles from Club Blu while searching for at least two suspects.
A neighbor heard at least 30 gunshots, WINK-TV reported.
One witness said she ducked under her vehicle with her sister as gunshots erupted.
“I couldn’t believe we were in a live shooting,” Juss Olivia said in a Facebook Live video.
Olivia saw at least one young shooting victim lying on the ground at the bar and grill.
“The little boy was just laying on the floor,” Olivia said. “He was just trying to fight for his life. The little boy was out.”
An apparent shooting victim identified on Facebook as Timothy Settles posted a four-second clip of himself lying down, silently, in a hospital bed with blood on his face.
“I don’t wabna (sic) die,” Settles wrote.
The club, through its headlining performer Nieya, advertised a “Swimsuit Glow Party” for Sunday night with a flyer that stated that no identification was required for entry.
