This chunky criminal can’t get his mind off cake — even when he’s discussing politics.
Imprisoned ex-mob boss Thomas “Tommy Shots” Gioeli warned Sunday that the US was “headed towards a Marie Antoinette moment” over Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.
The junk food-loving gangster invoked the infamous “Let them eat cake” queen — who was beheaded during the French Revolution — in a telephone interview from a federal lockup in North Carolina.
Gioeli was fuming that the feds didn’t prosecute the Democratic presidential nominee for using a private computer server to handle her emails while serving as secretary of state.
“It’s crazy. What they did was whitewash her,” Gioeli told AM 970’s “Morano in the Morning” show.
“It’s just preposterous that we’re expected to follow the laws and there are a certain amount of people — and whole groups of people — that are above them.
“And with behavior like this, I think America is headed towards a Marie Antoinette moment,” he added.
In 2010, the feds revealed that Gioeli was scarfing down doughnut sticks, candy bars and potato chips he bought at a jailhouse commissary — despite complaining to a judge that he suffered from diabetes and heart disease.
Also during Sunday’s interview, Gioeli said it was “very positive” that President Obama had commuted the sentences of 348 non-violent drug offenders since taking office, but added: “I just wish we had a few more white people on the list.”
Gioeli, 63, is serving 18-plus years for racketeering, and isn’t set for release until 2024.
