The NYPD is investigating two incidents of attempting luring that took place Tuesday night in Williamsburg as a pair of men in a minivan tried to entice two young Chasidic children to get into their car.
Police said that the first incident took place at 6:15 PM at the intersection of Hewes Street and Williamsburg Street East when two men in an older model light blue Dodge Caravan offered a 12 year old boy a lollipop.
“The approached the victim and said, ‘boy, come here, lollipop,’ in Yiddish,” said police.
The boy ran away from the scene and saw the same men talking to a young girl a few blocks away at another intersection.
Police said that the 10 year old girl continued walking and then men drove away.
Upon his return home, the boy told his mother what happened and she called police.
The two men are described as white, clean shaven and last seen wearing flat topped, brimmed caps.
