An American charity that supports Israel’s national emergency service has canceled a gala event it was scheduled to hold next February at Mar-a-Lago, President Donald Trump’s resort club in Palm Beach, Florida.
The organization, American Friends of Magen David Adom, said in a press statement that the decision to move the event to another location was reached “after considerable deliberation,” without explaining what exactly prompted it.
The Palm Beach Post reported Thursday that the charity held one of the largest events in Trump’s Florida resort this year, drawing more than 600 guests to its February gala evening, priced at $650 a ticket.
The 2018 event was expected to be similar in scope.
