Israel has quietly tested ways of defeating an advanced air-defense system that Russia has deployed in the Middle East and that could limit Tel Aviv’s ability to strike in Syria or Iran, military and diplomatic sources said.
Russia and Iran have formally reached a deal for Moscow to deliver Tehran advanced S-300 missile systems, deputy foreign minister Mikhail Bogdanov told RIA Novosti on Wednesday afternoon.
Tehran – Iran will sign a contract with Russia next week to buy four S-300 surface-to-air missile systems, the Iranian defense minister said on Tuesday, bringing Tehran closer to acquiring an advanced air defense capability.
